Cosmetic Safety

Uh. Eek?

So, It seems to me that everyone in the free world has a constantly evolving awareness of chemical dangers in cosmetic, health & household products. Which is why we have so many companies reaching out to touch our (possibly hidden, sometimes boldly visible) green sides. Right? Well, I guess it’s possible that there are still millions left unaware and who continue to remain unaware, not out of lacking concern, but simply because the tools to “easily” and “quickly” research the matters have not been made readily available to them (or brought to their attention).

Luckily – there’s the Environmental Working Group: Skin Deep Cosmetic Safety Database

Among a slue of other organizations (which many of us may have no previous awareness of) Environmental Working Group may just be one to help propel us “chemical-danger-dingbats” into an age of self enlightenment, and perhaps into a position of being a mass of individuals who actually “change” something.

Promoting information & awareness isn’t a new concept, but we all know that word of mouth spreads fast – And when you find something of this magnitude, that can help millions to help themselves as well as those they share the info with in day to day conversations, It’s certainly a brilliant one. So why aren’t we doing it?
Chances are, if we aren’t it’s simply because we just don’t have the information or tools to share – and now, we do.

Read the website, the articles (there are many, and each is chock full of something you probably weren’t aware of) do some research on your own… Find out how quick and easy they make this process, then, with your new found experience, go share your experience with everyone who will listen

While you’re there please consider signing their petition – the outline is short, simple and very straight forward. You can also search for and purchase safe cosmetics which meet any of your desired standards without ever leaving the site. If this site began with the intent of being a retail sales outlet – well, you can’t tell it. But if it did, they have the most brilliant form of advertising… Education.
